Kim Kardashian has complete control of the Hidden Hills house she bought with estranged husband Kanye West for their family in 2014, according to court paperwork obtained by US Weekly.
Kardashian, 40, purchased Kanye West’s share of the estate for $23 million combined. She bought it with her estranged husband, 44, shortly after their wedding in 2014.
At the time, the pair paid $20 million for the home and proceeded to rebuild it from the ground up. The home itself cost $20 million, while the remaining $3 million was paid for the contents, which include art and furnishings.
The musician was the creator of the Skims’ founder’s house and its children: North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2. Since the beginning of 2018, West has visited his Los Angeles home and his Wyoming ranch several times. He spent the bulk of 2020 on the ranch.
Earlier this year, the reality star filed for divorce following a little over seven years of marriage. Following their breakup, a source told Us that Kardashian would be remaining in their Hidden Hills home, which is near to the rest of her famous relatives in Calabasas, California.
Kim has chosen to stay in the Hidden Hills home because her children grew up there. So, she couldn’t afford to lose that home at any cost. On Monday, October 11, West had put his ranch in Cody, Wyoming, on the market in a surprising move.
The beauty queen previously revealed that the musician’s purchase of the 3,888-acre estate was a contributing factor to their split.
In a June episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim confessed, “I just can’t do this anymore. Why am I still in this situation where I’m trapped for years?”
“Like, he moves to a new state every year. I have to be on top of it so I can raise the children.”
“I can’t do it,” she said. “He should have a wife who supports his every action and travels with him and does everything, and I can’t.” She said this is the third marriage that has come to halt. And she expressed being a loser in her life.
Despite West’s plans to sell his ranch for $11 million, which is a reported $3 million more than the price he paid, the Georgia native still owns a larger property in the region.
Both Kardashian and West agreed to divide their assets. From now on, they will enjoy a platonic relationship besides co-parenting their kids.
