The audience rushed the stage during the “Out West” act’s performance at Houston’s NRG Park, resulting in a major catastrophe.
“This is a sad night for the city of Houston,” Fire Chief Samuel Peña said during a news conference on Saturday.
“We have at least eight confirmed fatalities right now, and we have scores of people who have been injured as a result of this occurrence.”
According to Peña, the crowd had “commenced to compress toward the front of the stage,” causing panic and injuries, by 9:00 p.m. When you throw a party at someplace where there are no bars or clubs, it’s easy for people to get carried away.
According to one source, the “Escape Plan” crooner had paused his performance “three times” during the show to inquire about what was going on.
Astroworld Festival, which was supposed to feature two nights of performances, has shelved its Saturday lineups amid the ongoing inquiry.
