Reality star Katie Thurston says she is going through a difficult time after splitting from her ex-fiance Blake Moynes.
On October 27, Katie Thurston posted an Instagram Story in which she was seen with her dog at the beach. “Dexter forcing me out [of] the house this morning,” she wrote, adding a heart sign.
The reality star later acknowledged her supporters on Instagram. “Thank you to everyone who has shown their love and support,” she wrote in a video of her cat on Instagram Story.
“You have two options: You can spend every day convincing yourself that everything is OK. Or you may accept what is and learn from it.
Remember, you don’t owe anyone anything. Life is far too short for that. Surround your personal universe with happiness.
On Monday, October 25, the couple announced their breakup via Instagram, posting the identical statement.
“It is with mutual love and regard that we have chosen to go our separate ways,” they announced.
“We are grateful for the times we spent together and the entire journey that unfolded this year, but we ultimately concluded that we were not a good match as life partners, and it was in both of our best interests to part ways.
“We ask for compassion and privacy as we go through this transition. We both wish the best for each other, and we hope you will support us in our decision.”
Moynes didn’t show up on time to Thurston’s season 17 of The Bachelorette at the beginning of this year. Both Moynes and Thurston got engaged during the August finale but they refused to move in together.
Thurston claimed that she and Moynes were “winging” it when it came to their long-distance relationship days before making the announcement.
Katie said they are still figuring things out and she explained this whole scenario as a completely new one for them. Moreover, Katie said she is laying her focus on herself and Moynes is focusing on himself to work things out.
Meanwhile, a source said that the distance between them — she resides in San Diego, while he lives in Canada and frequently visits Africa for work — was becoming difficult.
Despite her failed engagement, a source close to Thurston claims that she will “move on easily,” adding that she “will not give up on love and still hopes to tie the knot one day.”
