George Clooney recently expressed his disappointment as he revealed how people can be insensitive when it comes to celebrities. The actor criticized people who had filmed him instead of helping him following a near-fatal accident in 2018.
The Michael Clayton actor fumed recalling the incident when he was riding a motorcycle at 75mph in Sardinia and unfortunately hit by a car and met with a major accident. The actor said to a leading daily, “I was waiting for my switch to turn off.” He also added how the car hit him and sent him flying over the handlebars and continued that he was screaming for help as he was lying on the ground. However, the onlookers didn’t even bother to help him instead they started filming the actor on their phone.
Clooney said how he was disappointed realizing that he is only an entertainment object for the people, “If you’re in the public eye what you realise when you’re on the ground thinking it’s the last minute of your life is that, for some people, it’s just going to be entertainment for their Facebook page. I’m a pretty positive guy, but that told me – clearly – that you really are here just for their entertainment.”
The actor also pointed out how some people are busy in their own world and can do whatever it takes for the popularity in social media pages, he said, “You want to take every one and shake them.”
George also wanted to clear the parenting style he sets for his kids. “People are living their lives this way and I fight against it. If my kids do something cute, I want to take a picture, but I have to say, ‘Be in the moment – you don’t have to record everything’.”
This is not the first time the veteran actor criticized the social media enthusiastic generation. Earlier the actor said in a magazine interview, “We’re living in this world where everybody is trying to make themselves fascinating or important or something. When the reality is: Put that phone down!”
Last year The Tender Bar actor also revealed to a leading daily how lucky he was surviving the near-death experience.
