Minka Kelly, Star of ‘Euphoria,' Refused to Perform a Nude Scene in the Same Manner as Sydney Sweeney - Poxolo.com

Minka Kelly, Star of ‘Euphoria,’ Refused to Perform a Nude Scene in the Same Manner as Sydney Sweeney

Euphoria star, Minka Kelly, said no to a nude scene just like the actress Sydney Sweeney did.

Actress Minka Kelly has confessed that she didn’t agree to do a nude scene on HBO’s Euphoria. She said she took this decision after taking inspiration from Sydney Sweeney.

In her first episode, the Friday Night Lights alum was supposed to expose herself.

In the second season episode, which aired in January, Samantha hires Maddy (Alexa Demie) as a babysitter. The teenager unzips her dress in this installment.

In the deleted scene, Sam Levinson wrote a more explicit scenario than the sultry one that ended up in the final cut.

“Levinson thought it would be more interesting if my dress fell to the ground,” she told Vanity Fair in a recent interview. “I just didn’t feel at ease standing there naked on my first day as a guest on this new show.”

After only reading a short description of the character, the actress who previously played for the Titans informed Levinson that she thought the explicit shots would be wasted. The showrunner, who produces each episode of Euphoria, did not second-guess her choice.

“I said, ‘I’d want to do this scene except I think we can keep my dress on,’” the California native recalled. “He was like, ‘OK!.’ He didn’t even hesitate. And he produced a lovely shot that captured exactly what he had in mind.”

Even though the pool scene was completely reworked the morning of the shoot, Kelly values Levinson’s flexibility.

“I feel safe and confident with a director who isn’t afraid to change his mind. At the end of the day, it’s what appears on screen that matters. We’re all here to assist him in achieving his goals.”

In January, Sweeney, a 24-year-old who stars as high school student Cassie, became famous after saying something similar.

“There are times when Cassie was meant to be bare-chested, and I’d say, ‘I don’t think it’s necessary here,’” she told The Independent. “He added, ‘OK, we don’t need it.’”

“I’ve never felt like Sam has pushed it on me or tried to get a nude scene into an HBO TV show,” she stated. “He didn’t make me do anything if I didn’t want to.”

Fans were aloof, in part, because Cassie is often seen topless throughout the series. The notion that there was originally more material for season 2 stunned people.

However, Sweeney has indicated that she is satisfied with all of her explicit scenes in the series, which follows a high school student addicted to drugs and her friends.
