The film, The Batman, has got a premiere date on HBO Max. The launch of the blockbuster film will take place on the streaming service on Monday, April 18. Also, it will be aired on HBO on April 23 at 8 PM ET, on Saturday.
It was thought that Matt Reeves’ Batman film, which stars Robert Pattinson as both Gotham City’s vigilante detective and his secret alter ego, reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne, would premiere on HBO Max in late April.
The HBO website suffered from a technical issue on March 26, when the date of April 19 was briefly posted before being removed.
After a film’s initial weekend in theaters, all Warner Bros. theatrical debuts are planned to appear on Netflix 45 days later.
The fantasy has earned $735 million internationally and $359 million in the United States.
HBO Max has given a straight-to-series order to The Penguin, the spinoff series based on the film that will feature Colin Farrell reprising his antagonistous part from the film as one of Gotham’s legendary kingpins.
Reeves has written and directed The Batman and he has produced it with Dylan Clar
According to the official logline, when a murderer targets Gotham City’s elite with a string of sick jokes, the World’s Greatest Detective embarks on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Catwoman, The Penguin, Carmine Falcone, and The Riddler.
The Batman will have to establish new connections, expose the perpetrator, and deliver justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City as the evidence builds closer to home and the scale of the offender’s plans becomes apparent.
The cast includes Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Jayme Lawson with Andy Serkis and Farrell.
Reeves directed from a screenplay written by Peter Craig and Reeves, based on DC’s characters. Bob Kane and Bill Finger created Batman. Michael E. Also, the executive producers of the film are Uslan, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo, and Simon Emanuel.
