Salma Hayek will replace Thandiwe Newton in Warner Bros. Magic Mike’s The Last Dance. She will join Channing Tatum as Thandiwe Newton decided to step away from the project due to personal reasons.
As per a statement released by a Warner Bros. spokesperson Thandiwe Newton had made the difficult choice to withdraw from the production of Magic Mike’s Last Dance due to family reasons.
The film is currently shooting in London and will debut on HBO Max. Currently, no information is available regarding the plot of this movie.
Steven Soderbergh, the director of the first Magic Mike film, returns to direct this project with Reid Carolyn writing the script.
Gregory Jacobs, the director for the Magic Mike XXL, a 2015 hit, has returned to do the production work along with Carolin, Peter Kiernan, and Nick Wechsler.
The first two installments have grossed over $300 million worldwide, and the franchise’s live stage show Magic Mike Live debuted in 2017. Hayek was last seen in Marvel’s Eternals. She is managed by Management 360 and repped by CAA.
