Facebook renamed Meta has finally launched its Horizon Worlds apps for users who are more than 18 years of age. The Horizon Worlds is an application built by Meta to make socializing interesting with the help of virtual reality. Although the availability and usage of the application are limited to those residing in the US and Canada.
Meta’s step towards Horizon Worlds is the beginning of the Metaverse that CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been talking about for a very long time. Meta has a purpose to expand the existing VR space into an exponential status with new technology, promoting creators, and creative ideas. This is why the company recently announced a $10 million creator fund to reward creators while letting them compete with other creators. In fact, in their latest addition Horizon Worlds, the tech giant has introduced several new mechanics as well as templates for creators in the games section.
In simple terms, Horizon Worlds is a platform where users can turn themselves into a customizable avatar virtually after entering a digitally generated environment. People can choose to interact with anyone in this virtual space. The special thing about digital avatars is that they can smoothly communicate as people do in real life. They can move their hands and fingers to make gestures just like in the real world.
The Horizon Worlds is itself a world that allows people to enjoy music or play as many games as they want. As for those enthusiastic about gaming, Meta has added something thrilling. It had launched a brand new game called Arena Clash which is a 3v3 laser tag game played in teams. Users are also free to host virtual parties for professional and non-professional purposes.
For a Horizon Worlds experience, users need an Oculus Quest 2 headset. However, these headsets are pretty much on the costly side for a large portion of people. Due to this reason, Meta is working on bringing down the price of Oculus headsets so that more and more people can get their hands on the same.
