The Teardown of Mac Studio Reveals Potentially Upgradable SSD Storage

The Mac device is equipped with two SSD ports.

Max Yuryev, the host of Max Tech, discovers two SSD ports during the teardown of the Mac Studio. This may mean that the Mac Studio’s storage is, in fact, expandable.

The SSD slots appear to be quite accessible in the video, with Max Yuryev removing the Studio’s rubber cover to reveal four screws that connect the bottom of the device’s case.

Yuryev points out two SSD ports hidden beneath the Mac Studio’s power supply, which may be accessed without taking the computer apart any further after removing that panel.

He approaches the case of the Studio, removing its power supply and aluminum backing, to inspect the SSD ports (8:24).

His 2019 Mac Pro’s ports appear similar to those on his current Mac Pro, but when he inserts the SSD from his old machine, it doesn’t quite fit.

Users of the Apple Mac Pro can upgrade their existing SSD to one that holds up to 8TB using Apple’s SSD kit.
