Emma Mackey has been cast in the upcoming Barbie film, according to reports. In the movie, she’ll play her role alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

Sources say that the TV actress, 26, who plays Maeve Wiley on Netflix’s drama, will begin filming on the blockbuster in the next few weeks.

It’s uncertain what role Emma will have, but it has been reported that Margot, 31, will be Barbie and Ryan, 41, will play Ken.

A source close to the production told the Sun: “Emma is one of the most brilliant stars to emerge from Sex Education.” The series was a watershed moment in her career, and Maeve became a sensation.

Emma’s fame has exploded, and she is being sought after by everyone. She was Jacqueline De Bellefort in the new Death On The Nile film and Emily Bronte in the biopic about her life, which is set to release this year.

Emma’s job is being closely guarded, but it’s a significant part of the film and will cement her transition from a small-screen star to a big-screen icon. It’s a great moment for Emma, and she can’t wait to get started on the filming.

The live-action feature is being helmed by Greta Gerwig, who has previously earned an Oscar Award nomination.

“We like things that are a little left of center.” However, no further details regarding the film have been released yet.

“Details of the film are yet to be released, however, we like things that feel a bit left-field,” said Margot.

Like Barbie, for example. The name itself generates an immediate association to “Barbie.”

Meanwhile, Emma has been working on Frances O’Connor’s directorial debut, Emily, which has yet to be released. The tale of the famous author best known for her classic novel Wuthering Heights

Emma is joining the ranks of actors like Line Of Duty’s Adrian Dunbar, Gemma Jones from Ammonite, and Dunkirk’s Fionn Whitehead in the future film.

On the upcoming project, actress-turned-director Frances, 53, said: ‘Emily Brontë’s writing is steeped in such passion, feeling, violence, and fierce intelligence – that I’ve always yearned to know who she really was.

The central character of the novel is the misfit and rebel named Emilia who has lived her life in order to create an idealized future. She personifies ambition

Executive producer and financier John Haslam of Embankment said, ‘Frances’ narrative is refreshing.

It draws energetic performers, each of whom portrays a fascinating character that is just slightly dangerous; undoubtedly, contemporary and lively.

Emily was born in 1818 in West Yorkshire, the fifth of six children, and her entire existence was spent in a moorland village called Haworth, where her Irish father Patrick was curate.

Emily suffered a series of devastating setbacks when she was three years old, her mother died, and then two older sisters before she was seven.

Following her trauma, the writer immersed herself in a fantasy realm, creating stories and poetry with her siblings.

Wuthering Heights, a wrenching love tale as raw as the Yorkshire Moors on which it is set, was written by the author, who poured her anguish and enthusiasm into it.
