Three suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with the death and dismemberment of an Illinois woman who was reported missing Thursday.
According to reports, Brianna Roberts, 21, was stabbed and shot multiple times before her limbs were removed from her body.
Human remains were discovered at a Bollinger County, Missouri, home when deputies arrived to serve an arrest warrant, according to Sheriff Casey Graham’s Facebook post.
The three suspects were arrested based on additional unnamed evidence that was recovered at the scene.
But how Roberts had come to know the suspects and the sequence of events that led to her death were unclear. Graham wrote, according to the sheriff’s post, that investigators learned that Kaitlyn Morgan and Eric Nanney, both of Glen Allen, Missouri, were considered to be the last people known to have communicated with Roberts while she was still alive
Glen Allen is located about 112 miles south of St. Louis. The third suspect was identified as Ricky Nanney, Eric’s father. Kaitlyn Morgan was charged with first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence and abandonment of a corpse, and her bail was set at $1 million.
Ricky and Ryan Nanney were both charged with third-degree tampering with physical evidence. Bond was set at $50,000 for each of them. On Monday, an autopsy on Roberts’ remains will be performed, according to authorities.
