Prince Harry affirms returning to the UK with family if only he is allowed to pay for the police protection

A official statement came from the Duke of Sussex in which he negates the fact to return to his homeland in absence of such protection

Prince Harry recently affirmed returning to the UK with his family if only he is allowed to pay for the police protection. Earlier, the court had barred him from paying for his personal security from his pocket. However, Prince Harry challenged the decision and released a statement through his officials.

One of the legal representatives of the Duke of Sussex, released a statement seeking a judicial review in which the court is subjected to examine earlier decisions. The representative also stated, “In the absence of such protection, Prince Harry and his family are unable to return to his home.”

Earlier in 2020 when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a step back from their Royal duties, they lost the right of UK taxpayer funded security given to the senior royals. However, the Duke insisted on paying for it from his own pocket, it was rejected by the UK home office.

The representative stated, “Prince Harry inherited a security risk at birth, for life. He remains sixth in line to the throne, served two tours of combat duty in Afghanistan, and in recent years his family has been subjected to well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats.” The statement continued, “While his role within the Institution has changed, his profile as a member of the Royal Family has not. Nor has the threat to him and his family.”

Harry and his family left for the US after a stint in Canada following the exit from the UK royal duties. The Royal duo hired their own security team which cannot legally provide the required level of security in The UK, the representative stated.

The statement also said, “As is widely known, others who have left public office and have an inherent threat risk receive police protection at no cost to them. The goal for Prince Harry has been simple — to ensure the safety of himself and his family while in the UK so his children can know his home country.” It continued, “After another attempt at negotiations was also rejected, he sought a judicial review in September 2021 to challenge the decision-making behind the security procedures, in the hopes that this could be re-evaluated for the obvious and necessary protection required.”

The representative stated hoping that the situation will improve and the situation will be resolved, “The UK will always be Prince Harry’s home and a country he wants his wife and children to be safe in. With the lack of police protection, comes too great a personal risk. Prince Harry hopes that his petition — after close to two years of pleas for security in the UK — will resolve this situation.”

Earlier Meghan opened up about the security system in the UK in an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. While talking about the security issue she said, “I even wrote letters to his family saying, ‘Please, it’s very clear the protection of me or Archie is not a priority. I accept that. That is fine. Please keep my husband safe. I see the death threats. I see the racist propaganda. Please keep him safe. Please don’t pull his security and announce to the world when he and we are most vulnerable.'” To which she got the answer and said, “They said it’s just not possible.”
