Russia’s Isolation Grows as the Ukraine Conflict Rages on, with a Massive Column of Troops Approaching Kyiv

Russia is facing the brunt of isolation as its battle with Ukraine is growing sternly.

The isolation of Russia has intensified due to its continual invasion of Ukraine. Under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin, Russia has been using heavy shelling and a huge military convoy around the capital, Kyiv.

As per the Ukrainian officials, there is a constant bombardment of Kharkiv which is the second-largest city in Ukraine. And the attacks have killed lots of civilians in the country. No exact figures of casualties have been verified so far.

“Barbaric rocket assaults and MLRS (multiple launch rocket systems) on peaceful cities are proof that they are no longer capable of fighting armed Ukrainians,” Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksandr Reznikov said in a Facebook post.

Talks between Russia and its southern neighbor Monday failed to produce a breakthrough, with negotiators not indicating when a new session would be held.

On Monday, the Russian currency fell to new historic lows, with the rouble losing nearly 30% of its value against the dollar in a matter of hours as international pressure mounted for Putin to launch the most devastating assault on a European state since World War Two.

According to Maxar, a United States satellite firm, Russia has brought about 40 miles (64 kilometers) of armored vehicles, tanks, and other military equipment together.

“What I’m fairly sure about is that Russia is off schedule. I believe they believed that in 72 hours, Kyiv would be theirs,” said a Republican senator from the United States who attended a classified briefing with top Biden administration officials.

We needed to take a step back and assess the situation. On Sunday, Russian shelling of a base in the town of Okhtyrka, between Kharkiv and Kyiv, killed 70 Ukrainian troops, according to the regional governor.

The United States and its allies have targeted Russia’s central bank, top businesses, oligarchs, and officials including Vladimir Putin himself with financial penalties. Some Russian banks have been banned from the SWIFT international payments system as a result of these sanctions.

On Monday, Turkey delivered another blow to Moscow by cautioning belligerent nations not to dispatch vessels through its Bosphorus and Dardanelles Straits, which separate the Black Sea from the Mediterranean, effectively enclosing Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.

The United States has rejected the idea of deploying troops against Russia or enforcing a no-fly zone as requested by Ukraine, since doing so might lead to an escalation between the world‘s top two nuclear powers.

The Ukrainian president has declared that the country is in a full-scale war with Russia. But the United States and its allies have pledged military aid to Kyiv, as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy warned that the capital was under continual attack.
