The moment when actor George Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, decided to have children is “very emotional” for the star.<\/p>\n

In Monday’s episode of “WTF with Marc Maron<\/a>,” actor George Clooney, 60, recalled the private decision, telling host Maron that he never wanted to walk down the aisle again or have children.<\/p>\n

But when Amal, 43, entered his life, everything changed. The actor said he didn’t plan to marry or have kids in her life but the entry of Amal into his life changed the whole perspective about this subject.<\/p>\n

George Clooney revealed that he and Amal had been married for a year when they decided on their desire to have children. Amal said they both are very lucky to find each other and live their lives together.<\/p>\n

“I don’t believe either of us had made a decision,” he continued. “And then I just said, ‘Well, you know, if you’re in,’ and she responded, ‘I think we should give it a try.’ I have to say that it was quite emotional because I really felt that this was not my fate in life,<\/p>\n

Clooney recalled the day they learned they were having twins, recalling how their doctor showed him Amal’s sonogram when he found out.<\/p>\n

“I was like, ‘Baby boy, wonderful.’ Then they said, ‘And the other one is a girl.’ And I was like, ‘Oh (expletive),’ because I was considering adopting one.<\/p>\n

Though Clooney anticipated having just one kid, he describes being a father of two as “amazing.” In 2017, the couple welcomed twin girls, Alexander and Ella.<\/p>\n

“They were alone before, but now they have each other,” he continued. “They were together during the epidemic.”<\/p>\n

In 2014, George and Amal married in Venice. In November 2020, Clooney told CBS Sunday Morning<\/a> that he proposed to the lawyer who took her time to decide on her proposal.<\/p>\n

“When I first asked her out on a date, she told me she didn’t want to get married. She never talked about marriage when we were dating; I just threw it out of the blue.”<\/p>\n

“It took her a long time to say yes. I was on my knee for about 20 minutes before she finally said yes. ‘I’m going to throw my hip out,’ I told her, and she said yes.”<\/p>\n
