Animated Movie, “Sing 2”, to Have its Premiere at the AFI Fest on November 14

The animated film from Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures, directed by Garth Jennings, will premiere on Nov. 14.

The animated film, “Sing2” will have its premiere on November 14. The Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures sequel is a new entry to the Los Angeles festival’s lineup. And it will premiere in November at TCL Chinese Theatre.

The voice cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly, Nick Kroll, Pharrell Williams, Halsey, Bobby Cannavale, Letitia Wright, Eric André, and Chelsea Peretti in the animated feature.

Buster Moon is the main character in this musical comedy film. He along with his team stages a spectacular stage spectacle in Redshore City, the glitzy entertainment capital of the world.

They try to persuade the world’s most reclusive rock star, Bono (played by global music icon nominee), to join in the celebrations.

The film, which will come out on Dec. 22, features a soundtrack of more than 40 contemporary and classic songs.

It was produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri, with music by Joby Talbot, written and directed by Garth Jennings, and produced by Illumination co-founder and CCO Janet Healy.

The AFI FEST runs from Nov. 10 to 14, with Lin-Manuel Miranda’s tick, tick…BOOM! as its opener and Reinaldo Marcus Green’s Will Smith-starring King Richard as the finale.

“Swan Song,” Benjamin Cleary’s feature directorial debut; Pedro Almodóvar’s “Parallel Mothers”; and Jane Campion’s “The Power of the Dog,” are among the additional red carpet events.

This year’s AFI Fest will feature both in-person screenings and events, as well as virtual screenings. The FEST.AFI website currently offers passes to AFI Fest 2021 and individual tickets for sale.
