Cardi B Leaves the Film “Assisted Living”, Paramount Players Shut Down the NY Set Weeks Before Production Begins

Cardi B pulls out of Paramount's film, "Assisted Living". Paramount players have decided to shut down the NY set.

After Cardi B backed out of her starring role in Assisted Living, sources tell Deadline that Paramount Players has discontinued the comedy feature.

The film was less than a week from starting production, and the rest of the cast and crew were just informed that filming has been postponed.

Thembi Banks was set to direct the $30 million film, which was produced by Temple Hill. In the film, Assisted Living, Cardi B was supposed to play the role of a low-level criminal who runs away after being accused of a crime.

She hides out at her grandmother’s retirement home while she attempts to clear her name. She looks realistic with the aid of some ancient-lady prosthetics.

She has pulled out because she is overextended. This is in real-time, and when a star leaves a movie late, it’s generally followed by lawsuits.

Sources say that the plan is to reassemble the pieces later this year. Keep an eye out for further developments.
