After Previously Blaming Natural Causes for her Death, Betty White’s Cause of Death Is Revealed

Actress Betty White's death certificate reveals the actual cause of her death on New Year's Eve at the age of 99.

The official cause of Betty White’s death was revealed less than two weeks after it shook Hollywood.

TMZ obtained Betty White’s death certificate, which chronicles the actress’ passing due to a cerebrovascular accident on New Year’s Eve 2021 at the age of 99. As a result of losing blood flow to the brain, the injury causes tissue damage.

White had a stroke a few days before her death, according to the paperwork.

Following the death of actress Betty White, her agent and close friend Jeff Witjas stated in a statement that she died of natural causes.

Later that same day, he confirmed to Us Weekly that preparations for his mother’s funeral were underway.

“Betty wanted to handle things privately,” Witjas said the next day. “She never wanted others to make a fuss over her, just as she did not want it in life.”

Fans who wish to do something unique in memory of White should consider donating to one or more of the causes she supported, including The Los Angeles Zoo, Tree People, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Wildlife Learning Center, Actors and Animals for Others, The Aquarium of the Pacific and Guide Dogs For the Blind.

She was just shy of her 100th birthday when she died, making headlines. Betty was also quoted as saying that she felt like “the luckiest lady on two feet” to be approaching such an important moment in her life.”

The long-awaited debut of a film called Betty White: 100 Years Young — A Birthday Celebration was planned for January 17, 2022.

Although the tone of the one-night occasion has changed following her death, the film will still be shown in theaters on Monday, January 17.

“We came to admire and love Betty as a person and an accomplished performer during the many years we worked with her.”

“She is survived by generations of fans who have enjoyed her stunning voice and performance for decades,” producers Steve Boettcher and Mike Trinklein stated in a statement about the continuation of the project, adding that they wanted to “provide a means for everyone who loved her to celebrate her life.”

White’s friends and former costars are expected to make appearances in the film, including Ryan Reynolds, who worked with White on 2009’s The Proposal and developed a close friendship with him.

On December 31, the eight-time Emmy winner received a moving tribute from the showrunner in which he authored an emotional letter to her.
