Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli celebrated their daughter Vamika’s first birthday in an intimate ceremony in South Africa on Tuesday. The power-duo welcomed their first child a year ago on January 11.
Virat is currently in South Africa as the Indian team is buckling up for the ongoing test series against the host country. However, the doting father made sure that he makes the best out of his busy schedule for his little one.
Meanwhile, his actress wife took to Instagram and confirmed that their daughter’s birthday was perfect in every manner. Anushka shared a picture on her Instagram story where she was seen with her husband holding a glass of champagne and giggling while enjoying a conversation under the bright sunlight.
Anushka wrote, “The sun was bright, the light beautiful, the table full and just like that our little girl turned one.”
Anushka also thanked the ‘warmest people’ who joined the party and made it even more special. She wrote, “The evening was made extra special with the warmest people. And here I was worried about her first birthday being in a bubble! Thank you guys (you know who you are).”
Earlier on Tuesday, Anushka’s brother, Karnesh Sharma, took to Instagram to wish her niece on her first birthday. He shared a collage where Anushka was seen in various phases over the last few months as a new mother. He wrote by tagging Anushka and Virat, “Happy growing up kiddo. Lot more memories to the best parents Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli.”
Apart from being loving parents, Anushka and Virat have always been keeping their daughter from the media glare. They have even requested the paparazzi not to click the pictures of their daughter after she was born.
Anushka and Virat also refrain themselves from posting the face of their daughter on their social media handles.
Earlier Anushka talked about her daughter and how she is as a parent while giving an interview to a leading daily, “I find her extremely determined. I feel that if she ants to do something then she’s going to do it, and I can tell that it’s going to serve some purpose for her in life. It’s nice to see that because I think I was like that too. My role is to guide and support her, to be her sounding board without micromanaging or being too controlling. I think an important thing to imbibe in your child is to be loving and compassionate towards everybody.”
Anushka will be next seen in Chakda Xpress where she will be playing the role of Jhulan Goswami in the biopic of one of the most famous female Indian cricketer of all time.
Last week, Anushka shared the trailer of the movie where she was seen in an unrecognizable avatar.
