Ben Affleck is Concerned About the Effect that Public Opinion of him will have on his Children

In a new interview, Ben Affleck stated that he didn’t care much about how he was depicted in the media until his children were older.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Affleck, 49, addressed his public image.

“The public perception was so far from who I am that I just stopped reading and caring,” he said to the publication. “But then, as my children got older and started interacting with the web, that’s when it became difficult.”

“Even the “Sad Affleck” meme, which I found amusing — there’s no one who hasn’t felt that way at a junket. Then my children see it and I wonder if they will believe their father is really sad or whether they will worry about me. It’s really difficult.,” Affleck asserted.

Ben Affleck and ex-wife Jennifer Garner share three children: Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose, and Samuel Garner. The two former co-stars got married in 2005 and divorced in 2018.

He’s been very vocal about his drinking problem. He has been in and out of rehabilitation since the 1990s when he first began drinking.

In 2018, Ben Affleck revealed that she was battling a substance abuse problem on Instagram.

“Even if you are not addicted to any substance, battling a drug problem is a long-term and difficult battle. Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It’s a full-time job. I’m defending myself and my family.,” he wrote.

He went on to express his gratitude “to family, coworkers, and fans.” “There have been a lot of people who have written about their own experiences with addiction on social media. I’d like to say thank you to those individuals.”
