Following Chris Rock’s Altercation with Will Smith at the Oscars, Producer Will Packer said that Authorities were “Ready” to Arrest Smith

Oscars 2022 producer Will Packer says police authorities were all prepared to put Will Smith behind the bars.

2022 Oscars producer, Will Packer, has opened up as he revealed the happening behind the scenes following Will Smith slapping the comedian Chris Rock.

During his Friday, April 1, Good Morning America interview with Packer on ABC World News Tonight, Smith rushed the stage of the Dolby Theatre after he was alerted that authorities were on their way.

“They were saying, ‘This is a battery,’” Packer recalled. “That was the term they used at the time. They said, ‘We’re going to go get him.’ You can press charges on him. We can arrest him right now if you want.”

However, Packer stated that Rock, who is 57 years old, put an end to the confusion.

“They were discussing the options, and Chris… was being very dismissive of those alternatives,” the producer recalled.

“He said, ‘No, I’m fine,’” she recounted. “Even to the point where I said, ‘Rock, let them finish.’”

“The cops in the LAPD finish laying out what his choices were”. “And they ask, ‘Would you want us to take any action?’ And he replies, ‘No.’”

Before the Oscars, Packer had said that the Oscars would be full of fun and the event would not be boring. However, after the slapping incident, he described the event as “a very painful moment” in different ways.

At the Academy Awards on Sunday, Arthur J. Schaweck III shocked everyone by standing up out of his seat in response to a quip by Rock regarding Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head. (Alopecia is the Red Table Talk host’s condition.)

According to reports by the US Weekly, comedian Chris Rock did not file an official report with the LAPD.

According to a number of individuals, Smith has not privately contacted the comedian in order to resolve the problem.
