‘Maybe I’ll Feel Lost,’ says Maury Povich, Unsure How he feels about ‘Maury’ Coming to an End

Maury Povich says he is not sure about his feelings when the show, "Maury" would end. As per reports, the last season of the show will end in September.

Maury Povich has confessed that he has not yet felt the emotions regarding the ending of the show. The “Maury” show host declared that he would retire on Monday.

While giving an interview with “Good Morning America,” he concluded filming season 31 this week.

“How does it feel?” Povich said on the morning program. “It just feels like the season is coming to an end. There are no red lights, no audience, and no crew or staff… I’m not sure how I’ll feel after the show. I anticipate that I’ll be empty; perhaps lost.”

He admitted that all he knows is he has got a good journey for a long-time. Also, he added the time has come to end the show.

Moreover, the American TV personality asserted that he decided to retire from the show six years ago. However, NBC Universal demanded he continues his presence in the show.

“Despite my assertion that I was ready for assisted living, out of loyalty to NBCUniversal and my more than 100 employees and crew members, Tracie Wilson and I agreed to one last contract. I’m pleased as punch with my connection with NBCUniversal, and I’m also grateful to everyone who helped make the ‘Maury’ show a reality, but I tell my guests on ‘Maury,’ “Enough already!'”

Povich began his career as a television journalist before transitioning to the talk show realm, where he worked in Washington, D.C., initially for his father, Shirley, who was a well-known sportswriter.

He anchored local news broadcasts in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Philadelphia. For a time in Los Angeles, his co-anchor was journalist Connie Chung, whom he married in 1984.

In 1986, he was the first anchor of “A Current Affair,” an entertainment news program, and he started “The Maury Povich Show” for Paramount in 1991. In 1998, it was switched to NBC Universal, shortening the program’s name.
