Ryan Reynolds is taking a break from movie-making and acting. Ryan has clarified that his absence from blockbuster roles won’t be lengthy, but it will be significant for his three daughters with his wife, Blake Lively.

On Saturday, October 16, Reynolds announced on Instagram that he was taking some time off to complete his holiday film, Spirited. He described the Will Ferrell film as “tough” and added that it “fulfilled a lot of [his] expectations.” As a result, it felt like the right moment for a pause.

“It’s an excellent opportunity to take a break from movie production,” he continued. “I’m going to miss every second working with this insanely gifted group of creators and artists.”

On Sunday, October 17, the actor that plays Deadpool quelled concerns by clarifying what a “short sabbatical” might imply. Reynolds uploaded a photo of the word’s definition to give it as proof.

“A sabbatical might range from two months to a year in length. However, the typical length of time for a compensated sabbatical is generally six months,” the Indeed screenshot read.

It appears that Reynolds is ready for some father-daughter bonding. He and Lively, 34, who wed in September 2012, are the parents of three daughters, James, 6, Inez, 5, and Betty, 2.

“Michael Caine did it first,” says the star of A Simple Favor.

Caine, 88, recently referred to his film Best Sellers as “his last part,” although he clarified on Twitter that he has not worked since then. However, that does not imply he will not accept another assignment if the opportunity arises. On Saturday, October 16, Caine tweeted: “I haven’t retired and not many people know that.”

According to Reynolds, he and Gossip Girl alum prefer alternating roles in the writing process.

“For me, it’s all about prioritizing,” he remarked while at AOL Build in May 2018. “We’re fortunate enough to be able to avoid saying things like, ‘OK, Blake, you’ll go and make a film in Thailand, and I’ll make this film in Vancouver.’ We sort of alternate.” (here)

At the time, Reynolds was promoting Deadpool 2 and added that he would be returning home as soon as the press tour was finished to let Lively go to work. “[I’ll] just watch the kids and be with them,” he said.

“I don’t want to be on my deathbed, wondering if I missed out.” “Being with my children is something that I really enjoy.”

After finishing his Free Guy promotional tour, Reynolds appeared in the film Spirited. Meanwhile, Lively has recently started a new company endeavor called Betty Buzz, which produces cocktail mixers.

The effect of Ryan’s “little sabbatical” is not clear. But it seems like a good idea to take a break from work. It will help him to spend time with his family members.
