Tom Bergeron, Kat Dennings, Whoopi Goldberg and Other Celebrities React to Bob Saget’s Death at 65

Many of Bob Saget's former costars and friends remembered him and expressed their sorrow after his death at the age of 65.

“Just heard the terrible news. I’m devastated. You’re going to be missed, my friend,” Tom Bergeron wrote on Sunday, January 9th, sharing a video of them talking about their professions.“For my final AFV, I asked my friend for a special favor. He accepted. I’m eternally grateful to him.”

In their prior professions, Bergeron and Saget had previously hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos.

“We are sorry to hear about the passing of the great Bob Saget. Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time,” the official AFV Twitter account posted on Sunday.

After that, other celebrities recalled Saget’s good nature and his friendship with the late comedian.

He had the most generous and loving nature. He was so kind with his sentiments. Andy Cohen tweeted on Sunday, “A mensch,” after hearing the news.

I’m really sorry to hear about Bob Saget’s death. I am extremely saddened to learn of his passing, ” Tom Green. “You were always hilarious and kind. You made my life better and so many others’. Bob, Thank you for your kindness and humor. Rest in peace.”

Several of Saget’s former costars reacted to the news on social media.

“Oh dear. Bob Saget! The most beautiful man I’ve ever met. For one season, he was my television father and he was always so nice and caring towards me.”

“I’m so sorry to his family,” actress Kat Dennings, who played opposite the star in the 2001 comedy Raising Dad, tweeted on Sunday evening.

In the one-season comedy, Matt Stewart was a widowed father trying to raise his two daughters (Dennings and Brie Larson, respectively) with the help of his live-in father, Jerry Adler.

“I went, ‘Oh, man. I don’t know,’” Saget recalled to Deseret News in September 2001 after completing the Full House finale as another single father duty.“

Then I read it, and I loved it. And even though it was something that I had already invested in, I wanted to do it again.

“I’m not going to be playing Danny Tanner. He isn’t desperate or clingy. He doesn’t like to hug people much. He’s into cutting-edge music. He’s daring.”

Bob Saget, who was best recognized for his portrayal of Danny Tanner on Full House and its reboot, died at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday. He was in Florida to perform at a comedy showcase on Saturday, January 8.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office announced his death on Twitter.

The tweet read: “Deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes this afternoon for a report of an unconscious man in a hotel room.”

Robert Saget, the man in this photograph, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. There were no indications of foul play or drug use in this situation, according to cops.

In addition to his Full House patriarch duties, he had appeared in shows like Entourage, How I Met Your Mother, Meet Wally Sparks, and Madagascar.
