William Hurt, who won an Oscar Award for his work in ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ is dead at the age of 71

Oscar winning actor, William Hurt, lost his life at the age of 71. His son confirmed his death.

William Hurt lost his life on Sunday, March 13, and his son confirmed his death. The Oscar-winning actor died at the age of 71.

His son, Will Hurt, said to Deadline, his father William Hurt lost his life peacefully due to natural causes. He died one week before his 72nd birthday.

Will Hurt and Samuel, 32, are the children of Hurt with his wife, Heidi Henderson. He also leaves behind a large family, including Alexander, 39, and daughter Jeanne, 28, whose mother is Sandrine Bonnaire.

Hurt earned parts on stage and screen after attending Tufts University and transferring to Juilliard to study acting. William Hurt was a three-time Academy Award nominee for best actor, and the accolades came in three straight years. He was also a three-time winner of the Bafta award for the best British actor.

He got the award for 1985’s Kiss of the Spider Woman and was nominated for 1986’s Children of a Lesser God, as well as 1987’s Broadcast News.

After the Big Chill, William Hurt didn’t slow down his acting career. In 2002, he played the patriarch of an immortal family in Tuck Everlasting and Daniel Purcell in Damages, an FX hit series.

He has starred in Amazon’s Goliath, which concluded in December 2018, as well as the January 2022 film The King’s Daughter.

The celebrity has also starred in several of the highest-grossing movies ever, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
