Diane Kruger has shared an “uncomfortable” moment that she had in the early phase of her Hollywood journey.
On Monday, the acting celebrity said she’s “certainly come across the Weinsteins of this world from the beginning” during a conversation at Variety SXSW Studio.
After the screening and panel for her new film, “Swimming with Sharks,” she was there for the first time.
Following her sit-down, the actress spoke about her 2004 film “Troy,” in which she played Helen of Troy opposite Brad Pitt.
According to 45-year-old Kruger, she had “to go to the studio head in costume” for the role. The Warner Bros. release in question wasn’t specified by Kruger.
As a result, she felt as though she were being looked at and assessed “as if I were meat.” According to Kruger, she was asked, “Why should you be playing this?” while practicing in front of the team.
According to the site, it’s “not particularly frequent” for a celebrity to be required to show up in costume for an interview in an executive’s office. Studio leadership and producers watch recorded test screenings in order to determine whether they are suitable for the project.
A Warner Bros. Pictures rep didn’t immediately respond to Fox News Digital‘s request for comment. According to one source, however, the executives of Warner Bros. Pictures at the time departed the organization a long time ago.
When her career took off, she said she had felt nervous before.
“I’ve been placed in circumstances that were highly improper and unpleasant,” Kruger added.
“I believe it was when I started that it felt like, this is what it’s like. This is how Hollywood works. Furthermore, I come from modeling and will tell you that they have their down times.”
Kruger revealed that she filmed a scene in which her character is sexually exploited for her most recent thriller.
