Is he out? On Celebrity Big Brother season 3, it appears that comedian Chris Kattan is no longer a houseguest.
Former Saturday Night Live comedian Darrell Hammond vanished from view while going live on feeds on Wednesday evening, February 9. It fuelled speculation among viewers that he’d either quit or departed the game for personal reasons.
The other celebrity housemates began referring to him as if he was no longer in the game.
“I wasn’t that worried when Chris Kattan was still here because I felt like we had a chance for him to return home,” singer/dancer Todrick Hall told former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey.
“Well, I guess he was an extender,” replied George Costanza. “He’s out of the picture now.”
According to CBS, the issue will be addressed in the following Friday, February 11 episode.
In fact, it’s possible that Kattan was on the verge of quitting his gig because of back pain he’d been expressing for years after apparently breaking his neck years ago.
Not only did he tell his alliance to abandon him, but he had also lobbied to be removed from the game just days ahead of Olympian Mirai Nagasu, one of his supporters. She was nevertheless eliminated from the game by her fellow housemates in a unanimous decision.
And it is not the first instance a celebrity has attempted to leave their home. Metta World Peace, an ex-NBA player who was seen in season 1, stated his wish to be voted out during the first season.
In season 2, Anthony Scaramucci—who was previously the White House communications director—sped off abruptly in the middle of the game, which was subsequently revealed to be a “twist” because he wasn’t really a houseguest.
As of Friday, Kattan had not been seen on the feeds in over a day. A photo was uploaded to his Instagram account Monday morning with the caption “I just met a lady named Maria!” It’s possible that he posted it himself or that someone else is managing his social media accounts.
Before the game, Kattan told Us Weekly exclusively about what he thought would be his biggest challenge playing this contest.
“I’m going to have the hardest time with the physical challenges on Celebrity Big Brother,” Ryan said. “Before being chosen for the show, I didn’t follow a lot of Big Brother.”
The new season of Celebrity Big Brother begins on CBS Friday, February 11, at 8 p.m. ET.
