James Corden has revealed his plans to exit The Late Late Show. He has served on the show for eight long years.

“It’s been really difficult to leave because I’m so immensely proud of the program. I’m ecstatic to continue on another year,” telling Deadline that he will formally conclude his hosting duties in summer 2023.

“I always thought I’d do it for five years and then leave, but I stayed on. For a long time, I’ve been considering whether there may be another journey.”

Back in July 2019, CBS highlighted that Corden’s contract was put on extension until August 2023. The creator of the Gavin & Stacey addressed the outlet that he will film the last show before September of this year.

He is undecided, but he and his family are considering returning to England after his term in office concludes.

“It’s something we consider and talk about a lot, but we haven’t made a final decision on it yet,” said the Into the Woods actor. “That’s the aspect of life that we’ll figure out.”

“We’ve always been incredibly privileged to be able to live in Australia, and we take it for granted sometimes. “My family and I have never taken this amazing experience for granted. I’m from High Wycombe, but I drive down Sunset to work every day.”

The Late Late Show with James Corden has also earned a reputation for producing viral segments like as Spill Your Guts, Crosswalk Musical, Carpool Karaoke, and Drop the Mic.

The series was later modified into spinoff films for Apple+ and TBS, respectively.

In March 2016, Jennifer Lopez hosted a Carpool Karaoke primetime special on CBS, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special.

In May, after four months of research and filming, The Late Late Show host James Corden visited the White House for his first guest-hosting appearance.

“All of my greatest aspirations for what the show could be have been completely surpassed,” said Deadline. “My aim is to try and exit in the same manner we came in, which is to go out with or without a bang.”
