Kim Kardashian Apologizes for Her Controversial Business Advice to Women

Kim Kardashian said what she said was not a blanket statement toward women. It isn't like I don't respect the work or don't recognize their hard work.

Kim Kardashian has offered a statement to clarify her intentions on her controversial advice for women in business.

At the beginning of this month, the 41-year-old SKIMS mogul suggested women work religiously via Variety.

The statement, which was met with harsh backlash on social media, even elicited a punchline at the 94th annual Academy Awards on Sunday.

In a sit-down interview with ABC’s Good Morning America that will be included in an ABC Primetime Special on the Kardashian-Jenner family airing April 6, Kardashian is responding to the statement.

“I said it right, Robin. It was a statement that had no questions or conversation surrounding it,” she added, speaking on GMA’s Robin Roberts. It became a catchphrase without any context.”

“After 20 years in the business, I felt famous for being famous. So, when I got asked what advice you would give to women again in a new way after the previous question about what guidance would you offer them (which was already leading), it sounded strange.”

Kim Kardashian accidentally revealed the real advice she intended to offer during her interview. The TV celebrity clarified she didn’t want to make women feel low by saying such a statement.

During the Variety interview, Kardashian said that “it appears to be a dead-end” career these days.

It’s not a dig at women, according to sources. Kardashian’s statement “was not a message directed toward women” but rather “a response to the notion that anybody with a reality show and social media following can be successful overnight – that it’s really simple what she did.”

Kim Kardashian West has established an empire through her various business enterprises, including KKW beauty and SKIMS. The insider says, “The majority of her staff is made up of women and she owes them everything,” and that team members are “grateful for their success.”

The debut of the family’s The Kardashians series on Hulu is fast approaching for Kardashian, who is dating Pete Davidson.

She is also continuing to work as an attorney, which she stated in Vogue Hong Kong recently that she aspires “to one day start a flourishing legal firm.”

On April 6 at 8 p.m. ET, the new hour-long ABC Primetime Special with interviews from Kardashian as well as Kourtney, Khloé, and Kris Jenner debuts.
