EastEnders’ new set is worth £87million and it has been finished after a time period of five years. The delay happened due to the coronavirus pandemic and backlash which contributed to a boost in its cost of construction.
All of Albert Square’s well-known features, including the Queen Victoria pub, the Arches, and Walford East station—with the goal of completion in August 2018—will be featured in the Elstree setting.
After it was revealed that show producers were considering the inclusion of a mosque next door to the Prince Albert pub, speculation and queries about future plotlines rose.
The filming process on the new set started in January. And viewers will be able to their favorite stars on screen at the new set in the coming week.
The new production facility “enables improved HD for our viewers and additional filming possibilities,” according to a BBC statement.
The BBC spent millions on a completely new set for EastEnders after the previous one was deemed “not fit for purpose” in 2016, and it caused uproar.

That was £27 million above the planned budget – and the project was anticipated to be over five years late.
In March 2020, the BBC was accused of “complacency” after it revealed a £87 million expenses for its new EastEnders set.
It’s been rumoured that a mosque may be erected in the series’ new £87 million set, which premiered this month.
Following the series’ debut, photos of the set have generated rumors about future plotlines. It was reported that producers were considering adding a mosque to the location.
The set includes a Mosque that may be built near the chemist, betting shop, and Beale’s famed Fish Bar, as well as next to the wine and cocktail bar.
